  • I Never Knew the Worth of the Law Centre Until Grenfell

    North Kensington Law Centre was the first law centre to open its doors in the UK in 1970 and this Friday they are celebrating their 50th anniversary. With support from The National Lottery Community Fund and The Tudor Trust, we’ve been working with them to capture the stories of their clients, trustees, and staff past and present to put a spotlight on the importance of access to justice for all.  Halima was a client of North Kensington Law Centre.   • Making Young People Heard: Football Beyond Borders Isolation Diaries 

    Football Beyond Borders (FBB) is a charity changing the lives of young people who are passionate about football but may be disengaged at school, providing long-term support, built around relationships and young people’s passions. They started their ‘Isolation Diaries’ in March to highlight the stories of 10 members of the FBB family, a mix of young people, parents, teachers and practitioners at the start of lockdown.   • Learning from Covid-19 to improve services so the next person gets the help they need

    Phil works with Expert Citizens, he is a part of multiple peer research teams and is an insight evaluator. Expert Citizens is a community interest company led by an independent group of people who have all experienced multiple needs – combinations of mental ill health, homelessness, addiction and offending behaviour. They give their ideas to services like the local authority, police and homelessness services of Stoke-on-Trent, and nationally, to help guide and shape them to improve the care of multiple needs citizens.   • Solutions to homelessness aren’t a temporary thing – it’s time to shake up the system

    Nikki Aitchison is the Head of Employment Development Projects, at Aspire – an award winning Charity and Social Enterprise. Aspire works with people experiencing significant disadvantage in their lives such as homelessness, providing personalised support to build on their strengths to overcome barriers. Over half of the team have lived experience of overcoming adversity, and Aspire works to innovate, and get upstream to prevent problems spiralling in the first place.
