Claire is Disability Rights Advocate at Inclusion Barnet, a dynamic peer-led disability organisation based in North London with a national reach through its Campaign for Disability Justice. We tackle systemic barriers locally and nationally to forge inclusive services and communities where Disabled people can live free from stigma and poverty.
Drawing on two decades of strategic communications expertise, Claire was a key driver in the development of the Talking About Disability guide, a co-produced resource to widen the reach of communications across the sector. Leading from this Claire is currently co-lead on the foundational development of a London-wide Community of Practice network for disability organisations aimed at bolstering the sector’s strategic communications capacity.
Drawing on decades of professional expertise, personal lived experience, and a deep understanding gained through over 30 years as both a dedicated carer and an active volunteer within the disability and voluntary sectors, she develops impactful communication strategies. These strategies effectively engage individuals, policymakers, and service providers, contributing to our vision of a society where Disabled people can experience equity.
