For me, sharing my story has empowered me to live each day to make a difference to the lives of young people. I live each day as if it was my last day and if I have not had an impact on someone’s live my life is not worth living.
Stories have always been a powerful magic. Human beings are wired for them. The story we choose to tell about ourselves is a kind of spell, a way to write upon the world. But what if the narrative ‘tell your story; change the world’ is itself another story?
We all have powerful stories to tell, which we use to be a voice for others. Storytelling has helped me, as part of my recovery from an abusive relationship, to gain confidence and feel empowered as a person. These stories, I hope, will then empower others that are currently, or have been through similar situations to myself.
