Deborah is an expert by experience, campaigner, advocate and frontline leader who uses her lived experience to challenge systems, educate professionals and create meaningful support for women and children affected by domestic abuse. Her work is rooted in compassion, courage and a deep understanding of what survivors need — not just to escape abuse, but to rebuild their lives with dignity, confidence and hope.
Through Resolute Women’s Support Services, Deborah has created a survivor-led organisation that supports women on their journey from surviving to thriving. Resolute provides practical and emotional support, peer support, trauma-informed therapy, holistic wellbeing services, advocacy and education. At the heart of the organisation is Lotus — the home of Resolute, a safe and welcoming community space designed to help women feel believed, supported and empowered.
Deborah also delivers specialist training to organisations and professionals, sharing the realities of domestic abuse beyond theory or textbook learning. Her training challenges assumptions, strengthens understanding and helps services recognise the impact their decisions, language and actions can have on victims and children.
Known for her determination, honesty and compassion, Deborah has become a strong voice for survivors in Barnsley, South Yorkshire and beyond. Her mission is clear: to ensure women are not just heard, but believed, protected and supported to rebuild lives free from fear.
