Christopher is the Lived Experience Lead at We Are Survivors (WAS), the leading charity within England and Wales supporting male survivors of sexual harms. Prior to his current role, Christopher had been a long-standing client of WAS and takes pride in knowing that the support once vital to his own recovery has now come full circle, allowing him to advocate for and guide his fellow male survivors, so they too have opportunities to heal, be heard and to thrive.

Christopher credits We Are Survivors with helping him amplify his voice and has spoken publicly at events across the country, detailing his experiences of sexual trauma, domestic abuse, addiction, and incarceration. In late 2023, Christopher helped establish the Manchester Trauma and Sexual Violence Network in conjunction with Manchester City Council Public Health Department and several other sexual violence support services and is currently acting as their Subject Matter Expert. As a part of this role Christopher has written ‘When they Tell You: A Guide to Receiving Disclosures of Sexual Harms’ due to be launched in July 2026. In developing this guide Christopher consulted 86 survivors and 71 professionals over a 2-year period.

Outside of work, Christopher is a storyteller and published author; his work, based around his own experiences of sexual harms, highlights how re-framing trauma can help aid recovery and how happier endings can be created on the page.

Since becoming a member of the 2025 Sounddelivery Media Spokesperson Cohort, Christopher has launched the We Are Survivors Loud Voices Project, delivered a keynote speech at the National Insight Awards, had a first person article published in the Metro, has spoken at the Greater Manchester Trauma Conference, at the National Crown Prosecution Service Leadership Conference, supported fellow male survivors in conversations with The Victim’s Commissioner for England and Wales, and been chosen as a Big Issue Top 100 Changemaker for 2026.

“As a Spokesperson for male survivors of sexual harms, I aim to offer hope to men living in silence and isolation that support is out there, recovery is possible, and happy, fulfilled lives can be lived.”
