Rachel New is the Creative Lives Producer at BBC CWR. Employed Creative by Lives shining a light on the work of grassroots creative groups in Coventry and Warwickshire.

Rachel New is the Creative Lives Producer at BBC CWR. Employed Creative by Lives shining a light on the work of grassroots creative groups in Coventry and Warwickshire. Focusing on the mental health and wellbeing benefits of engaging in community creativity, she tells the stories of these groups on air across the BBC CWR output and on her show Coventry Creates.

She has held many roles in Radio including Drive time presenter on Greatest Hits Radio, and working as a Freelance radio broadcaster presenting on BBC CWR, BBC Radio Derby and BBC WM, as well as in commercial radio. Rachel is the Sony Silver winner in 2005 and Sony nominee in 2007.

Rachel produces three podcasts. Sifa Stories – Giving a Voice to the homeless, is about the clients of Birmingham Charity Sifa Fireside. Changing Futures is a podcast for Birmingham Changing Futures Together, about the work they do, with and for, people with multiple and complex needs. On My Last Eggs Is a podcast about being in the wild throws of perimenopause.  

She is passionate about the power of creativity, making, art and culture and their positive effect on individuals and communities.
