Welcome to our weekly Storytelling Highlights. Here we share our weekly dose of things we’ve spotted that are great examples of storytelling. 1. #WhiteRibbonDay
Today is White Ribbon Day, an international day dedicated to the elimination of violence against women it marks the start of 16 days of activism against gender-based violence. People have been sharing images of support on Twitter but it’s important to hear the voices of the women affected, they need to be given the skills and confidence to speak out. Read our blog for White Ribbon Day sharing our experiences working with survivors of abuse including the powerful talk given by Mandy Thomas at Being the Story. Mandy is a survivor of domestic abuse who is using her story to speak out for others and to raise awareness and provoke change around domestic abuse laws and policy. And follow #WhiteRibbonDay on Twitter.

2. END OF THE LINE

We think End of the Line is a really creative way of telling the story around the rise of rough sleepers in London with impact. Produced by Peter Yeung and Alli Shultes the video takes you on the journey of the N25 night bus, the route with the highest reported numbers of rough sleepers. Rough sleeping on London’s night buses has risen 121% in the past four years, according to an internal report by Transport for London. Maps, photos and a firsthand audio story of Joanne give more insights into what it’s like for the homeless who sleep on these night buses. Watch it here.

3. Breaking the Silence
This week Channel 4 broadcast Breaking the Silence Live – a new documentary that witnesses the moment when a group of deaf people may hear for the first time, after having cochlear implants fitted. We got to witness the touching moments where individuals, some of them deaf since birth were able to hear their loved ones voices. The documentary also highlighted some of the issues facing those with hearing loss and how they can be helped.
