We need to be sharing more stories about young people

Attending the recent launch of the London Youth report: Hunch: ‘A vision for youth in post austerity Britain’ I was inspired by one of the charity’s trustees, 21-year-old Francis Augusto. He came to the UK from Angola with his family to start a new life. But life was challenging and at the age of 13 he was going off the rails and was arrested for GBH. However, his life was turned around thanks to a special youth worker who supported him and encouraged him “to be the best he could be”.

Talkin’ ‘Bout My Generation – London Youth Intergenerational Project

Commissioned by the Beth Johnson Foundation, London Youth were asked to create a series of workshops to find out more about young people’s views on age, ageing, and what they thought older people could offer them. Having worked with London Youth in the past they then asked sounddelivery to create some audio and multi-media reports based on what the young people said.

Intergenerational project for London Youth

sounddelivery has been commissioned to produce an audio CD and short film to document an intergenerational project with London Youth. Young people are being invited to give their views on how they perceive themselves in relation to their age and how they perceive age in relation to people around them.
