We believe that everyone who’s involved in a charity – from the staff and trustees, to volunteers and beneficiaries – has a role to play in telling its story. Racing Welfare commissioned us to facilitate an all-staff training day that would inspire and inform all members of staff about how case studies and storytelling can bring the charity’s work to life. Our aim was to give every employee the skills and confidence to become storytellers and incorporate stories into their work.

During the team day we looked at target audiences, brainstormed storytelling strategies for real-life campaigns and projects in the pipeline, and created multimedia content including short videos recorded on mobile phones. When the finance director comes up to you at the end of the day and says he sees the value of numbers to tell stories, you know the day has been successful!

What Racing Welfare say

Jude came to deliver training at Racing Welfare’s Staff Forum in the summer of 2016. With more than twenty members of staff from all departments taking part, the training catered exceptionally well for a wide range of people with varied digital experience. We all left the day’s training feeling inspired to find innovative ways of demonstrating the charity’s work.
