I truly hope my experience will contribute with a tiny drop in creating a powerful rain against violence and abuse.

Feedback from a survivor of domestic abuse

We believe that first-hand accounts play a vital part in raising awareness of the reality of situations that people face. We partnered with the charity AVA, which aims to put an end to gender-based violence and abuse, to record personal testimonies of survivors for use in its domestic violence awareness elearning course.

The project was funded by Public Health England with the aim of giving service commissioners, social workers and other frontline professionals a deeper understanding of domestic violence, including the different forms it can take and the effect it has on people’s lives. We supported each survivor to tell their story in their own way and in their own time. AVA has told us that the personal testimonies have made a real difference to how professionals respond to the training content.

Sounddelivery were an excellent organisation to work with, and I highly recommend using their services. They understood the desired outcome we had for our audio project and worked hard to ensure we met our objective in a powerful and hard hitting manner. Our audio interview participants were all sharing a challenging and personal story, and they were impressively sensitive to the needs of our client group, enabling them to open up and feel empowered by sharing their story. They were highly efficient and delivered on time if not early and were passionate about assisting us publicise our stories once the project was over.
