Multimedia training in schools
Mar 31st, 2009 • Category: Case studies
Brief
As part of a joint project between a university, a community organisation and a primary school, we were invited to deliver two multimedia workshops for primary school children at Sir James Barrie Primary School in Wandsworth, London.
Approach
We created tailor-made multimedia training workshops, to help the pupils learn new skills in photography, podcasting and writing, so that they could tell their own stories about their local community and neighbourhood.
As part of the training the pupils at Sir James Barrie School we asked what the word community means to them.
What the client says
“The project was a collaboration between a university, a community organisation and a primary school. The sessions allowed children to think creatively about their stories, using photography and audio content. Most importantly, the children had fun interviewing each other and were given the space to explore the high-tech audio equipment freely.” Elhum Ghandi, Researcher at St George’s, University of London
