sounddelivery is delighted to be presenting at the biggest museum and gallery event in Europe – Museums Association London 09 -with over 1,400 museum professionals discussing the key issues affecting the sector today. The main themes of the conference this year are digital change, learning in museums, and sustainability.
We’re a key part of the Exhibition Seminar Programme running sessions on Monday 5th October. Seminars are free and open to all.
10.30-11.15 Social media for museums: a how to guide Seminar Room 1
Using museum case studies, this interactive workshop explores the range of applications available from blogs to podcasts, social networks to traditional media. It offers practical advice for museums and galleries of all sizes to harness new technology.
12.00-12.45 The power of sound: creating powerful podcasts
In this interactive workshop find out how museums can create powerful podcasts cost effectively, reach out to new audiences, promote events and engage with local communities.
On Wednesday 7th October we’re part of a team delivering a presentation on social inclusion through media projects. This interactive session explores how museums have engaged communities using media applications from podcasts to photography and video to blogging. Examples include Podcasts from the Past in which unemployed men recorded podcasts to support visually-impaired visitors and My Brixton, a social reporting project as part of an exhibition about the Brixton riots.
