Bespoke podcasting training (various clients)

Apr 17th, 2009 • Category: Case studies

sounddelivery has run bespoke in-house podcasting workshops for a wide range of organisations. The hands-on workshops offer participants a practical guide to understanding, developing and producing audio content. Our aim is to help organisations explore how audio content and podcasts can bring value to their work – and give them the skills, knowledge and confidence to put their ideas into practice.

Here’s an overview of some of the in-house workshops we’ve delivered and what participants said about them:

thesite.org

We worked with the team at Youthnet to run a podcasting workshop to enhance key skills needed to produce a top quality podcast package aimed at young people aged 16-24. They already had podcast skills and were producing one or two podcasts every month on a range of different subjects for TheSite.org. At the end of the workshop we brought in Radio 1 producer to give feedback on the work created by the participants.

“Spending a day with sounddelivery was so useful for our team; it has really helped to improve our audio content on TheSite.org. Everyone benefitted from the day, from people who’d never used recording equipment before through to former radio producers who needed a confidence boost.” Oliver Benson, Editorial Manager, YouthNet

RNIB

We delivered a podcasting workshop for 12 members of staff working in the web and events team at the RNIB. This workshop provided a practical guide to understanding, developing and producing audio content to be used in a range of ways within the RNIB. The aim of the day was to give everyone the opportunity to discuss in a creative environment how audio and podcasts can work for their particular departments. The day included a mixture of theoretical and practical sessions.

“The course was a great introduction to planning, recording and editing audio material for podcasting. The course helped us to understand the impact of effective audio and how we can use it to give a real insight into what it is like to have a sight problem. Because the course was so hands-on, it gave us the skills and confidence to buy some kit and get started straight away!” Madeline Sugden, formerly Senior Web Producer, RNIB

Timebank

Our in-house podcasting workshop showed staff at Timebank how to gather audio content to illustrate the work they do. By the end of the workshop the trainees had recorded and edited a series of interviews and voxpops and produced ideas towards an audio strategy.

“Everyone thought that it was a brilliant training session.  We really got what we needed from it – as we all now feel confident enough to record and edit podcast content.” Workshop participant, Timebank

The Scout Association

sounddelivery was invited to provide a practical training session that would show The Scout Association how to understand, develop and produce podcasts and other audio content for use in areas including recruitment of volunteers, membership, fundraising and profile raising.

“All brilliant. I can honestly say it’s the best course I have been on.” The Scout Association
