1. A Million Likes on Facebook Won’t Get Me A Kidney, But it Might
At sounddelivery we champion stories that need to be told, stories that have the power to change the world around us. Being the Story is a platform for people with extraordinary stories to share their experiences. Nicola Pietrzyk’s son was diagnosed with Congenital Nephrotic Syndrome at five weeks, when the chances of finding an organ donor seemed to be disappearing she turned to social media in her search. Nicola shares her captivating story to raise awareness of the challenges and triumphs of finding an organ donor. We’d love to share more stories, more widely- help us get to 1,000 YouTube subscribers by signing up here.

2.  Catching A Killer
Last night Channel 4 brought us Catching A Killer, a new documentary film from our friends at True Vision TV. It followed Thames Valley Police as they investigated the disappearance of Natalie Hemming, recording footage of the police, the victim’s family, and the suspect. It gave extraordinary insight into how an investigation unfolds, but it raised a lot of important issues around abuse and speaking out to get support to leave abusive relationships before it’s too late. Women’s Aid Survivor Ambassador Mandy Thomas shared her story in this powerful talk.

3. #LifeWithCancer
This week Macmillan Cancer broadcast a series of new TV adverts to show that #LifeWithCancer is still life. Each video has a powerful narrative of a dad, mate, sister and lover. The stories show that when living with, and being treated for cancer it can be a tough and emotionally draining time but with the right support you can continue being a friend or father or lover and enjoy living your life. Brilliant storytelling from Macmillan!

4. #RevoltAgainstSexualAssault
We’re always looking at different ways people can feel empowered to share their stories, and in the case of #RevoltAgainstSexualAssault these millennials chose to share their experiences of abuse on Snapchat, a medium second nature to them. Many of the participants chose to use the snapchat filters which allowed a certain level of anonymity and allowed them to find their voices to share their stories.

5. RightsInfo GE2017
With less than a week to go until the General Election we wanted to share this fab video from RightsInfo on ‘Why We Should All Use Our Hard-Won Right to Vote’. There seems to be a lot of voter apathy this election but many countries around the world are not so fortunate to have a vote and that’s something to value. #SMEX17 speakers RightInfo are known for their brilliantly informative videos on all things human rights, take a look at them here.

Added Extra:
We were delighted to see the launch of the Behind Bras website this week, Barbara has written two captivating blogs for us sharing her story for the first time, and her vision for Behind Bras in supporting women behind bars. Take a look at it here > https://www.behindbras.org.uk/

Do keep us updated with what you think I should be finding out more about.
